I thought about this briefly in the first episode. Then a reference to it came back in Flesh and Stone. Then...silence.
What the hell is the meaning of the duck pond without ducks? And will it come back?

it's not that complicated, they just got eaten up by the crack. that's why Amy knows it was a duck pond, just like how she remembers her parents existing but doesn't remember how they disappeared.
ReplyDeleteBut the ducks weren't personally important to her. The crack was in her bedroom, so it ate her memories of her parents because they were in her house/close to her both physically and emotionally. The ducks are just...ducks. They're not personally linked to Amy. That's why it's weird.

...whaaaa? No, remember when the Clerics that were protecting Amy in Flesh and Stone disappeared? The only reason why she remembered them was BECAUSE they weren't personally important to her. If they were, she would've forgotten them like she did with Rory.

...but she DOES remember the ducks. she just doesn't remember how they disappeared. if she didn't remember the ducks, she wouldn't have remembered that it was a duck pond, it would've just been a pond to her.

Wibbley-wobbley timey-wimey. I still maintain that they should be the Series 6 monsters, and that there is something important about them. They're so random - they're not even people who have gone missing, just random ducks. And that reference popped up twice. Nothing pops up more than once in the Moffat Whoniverse unless there's something more to it.

And I tried signing out and viewing the blag and the links still showed up blue, though I didn't click on any of them. I'll poke around in Design though.
